CULTURE VULTURE
CULTURE VULTURE
When I was living in New York City, my friend Lizzie included me in her ‘Culture Vulture’ distribution. It was a list of everything she planned to do in the next few months, and an invitation to all her friends to join her. It helped me get out and do things I wouldn’t have thought of doing, and meet mutual friends who were awesome!
Returning to Sydney, I want to bring this brilliant concept to life here and hope you have as much fun as I do along the way.
The following is a list of things I’d like to do in Q1 2026. Please have a read and then let me know what tickles your fancy.
Because only boring people get bored.
Friday, 23 January - 7 pm
Roslyn Packer Theatre, Millers Point
$109
LACRIMA
Part of the Sydney Festival Program, this three-hour play is described as “a monumental, magnetic production.” It’s about the making of a wedding dress. Could be good, could be boring as f***.
Sunday, 18 January - 4 pm
Carriageworks
$71
Hamlet Camp
If the Sydney Morning Herald is claiming this rendition is “Wildly funny”, then, hey, I’ll give it a go with an impressive line-up of local acting legends.
Saturday, 7 February - 11 am
NSW Art Gallery, The Domain
$35
Dangerously Modern
Australian Women Artists in Europe 1890–1940. The exhibition ends on 15 February, so I’m keen to see it before it goes! Lunch after, either at the gallery or close by.
Friday, 20 February - 5:00 pm
Bondi Beach
$227.80
Crowded House
I can’t think of a more iconic music experience than Crowded House playing on Bondi Beach. The stage is on the sand, part of the new Golden Hour music event that’s said to mark the end of the summer.
Sail GP
Saturday, 28 February - 3:00 pm
Shark Island
$380.00
Inspired by Ali, I added this one to see if anyone was interested. I know it’s a bit pricey to watch from Shark Island, so I may end up on the beach or park for my first time. But that said - could be a fun day out!
Friday or Saturday, 6-7 March - 6 pm
Opera House Forecourt
$159.90
Pulp
Pulp are back. Sydney’s ready. Common people tend to turn up for moments like this.
Bessie’s
Friday, 13 March - 6:30 pm
111-115 Albion Street, Surry Hills
$85 +
“The cake was fucking delicious. But I don’t think I was prepared for how fun it would be – standing at the bar with a frozen Marg while your table gets prepped, swiping up whipped cod roe with garlicky flatbread as Mariah Carey’s Heartbreaker blasts overhead.”
Sounds GREAT!
Bobbo Classic
Sunday, 29 March - 6:30 am +
Bobbin Head, Turramurra
$60 - $105 + Bike $$$
Ok. I know this one isn’t for everyone, but if you, your other athletic half or mamil friend are keen for a challenge, this is a great ride and should be really fun!
Let’s do it!
Fill out the form to see if you want to join any of these activities above. I will then send you the details, along with the names of those who are also interested!
